Where are some good day spas that offer facials?

I'm going back to school soon and i would like to start the year with a glowy face, the type of glowy u get after a facial. ive never had a facial before and im not sure where to start looking. i live in the baltimore area, columbia would also work and was wondering if anyone knew of a great day spa. i have limited funds however, and if u could tell me the name of a spa that would be great (even better would be the website to the spa though!)Where are some good day spas that offer facials?
tr to search it with citysearch.com

Can anyone tell me of a great Spa in the downtown Dallas area? (i.e. facials, massages, etc.)?

Staying downtown for Labor Day weekend and would like to spend some time at a good spa.Can anyone tell me of a great Spa in the downtown Dallas area? (i.e. facials, massages, etc.)?
Not sure about downtown, but Uptown will have lots of them. Here's one:

....

I take it back. Just go to Hotel Zaza. Can anyone tell me of a great Spa in the downtown Dallas area? (i.e. facials, massages, etc.)?
Hotel Zaza has a very nice spa, it's unlike the typical spa experience in Dallas.
Nieman Marcus does this.

Teen facials done at the spa?

i have a little bit of acne that i just cant seem to get rid of and school is starting in a couple weeks and really want my face clear so i am going to a spa to get a facial done..most likely a teen facial..and i was just wondering if i get a teen facials every other week or every week will this get my face clear and keep it that way??Teen facials done at the spa?
dunnoTeen facials done at the spa?
no, not really, they won't open pours, trust me i've tried it just makes ur skin kinda soft but u still will have the acne, i would say go out to a cvs or rite ade, or just a super market and get Clearasil ultra or st.johns Apricot scrub, trust me,because i've had acne problems for years!
I got a teen facial once; It was really nice and relaxing. It did not get rid of my acne immediately. It just opened up my pores and things. I would not suggest getting them like every week... it gets expensive and it not a long term treatment to acne!

Go to a drug store and get Neutrogena oil-free acne wash; it really helps. if this does not clear it up, try seeing a dermatologist.

I would definitely get a facial but not as often as you said!
Hey if they use a face mask they only bring out spots because they open pores so you'd probably get more spots. you need to find a face scrub =) should work better =)
Well i reccomend findding a site where you can do it at home and save money.

we are in a finacial crisis do you really want to pay crazy prices and have the risk of not geting clear skin?

What's a good spa in southern cali to get facials?

somewhere in oxnard, ventura, SB, goleta? What's a good spa in southern cali to get facials?
In Simi Valley you can go to Bella Amore and ask for Carolyn Moreno. She is SO amazing!!!! She is so relazing you will feel like you are on another planet for an hour. Best of all.... your skin will feel great for weeks.

The phone number for the spa is 582-0440What's a good spa in southern cali to get facials?
Look in the phone books under spa's or beauty salons. Beauty Schools also sometimes have an Esthetician dept. If they have an ';esthetician'; dept you'll get a great facial if you get a ';European Facial';. It can take an hour to 11/2 hrs. but you get the works exfoliated, steamed, mask, massage etc.

Advertising/Marketing/Promotio鈥?Ideas for a Day Spa with Massages Facials & Waxings?

I'm a 'spa coordinator'; at a amazing Day Spa in Orange County CA, but besides my receptionist duties, I'm also helping out (as much as I can) with any promotional ideas, marketing, %26amp; a little advertising.

We already do a lot of different things but I'd love to hear what specific techniques, or ideas would make you or anyone come back to a spa.

What are you looking for? What would be the cherry on top that really made the sunday (so to speak lol)

Here's what we have already...

- a website inessencedayspa.com

- we send out flyers with promotional prices

- we send monthly emails with different deals

- we have 30min free GC we give away to clients, businesses, and homes

- ';new guest specials'; (discounted services for 1st-timers)

- a rewards cards where you refer people, write a review online, sign up for the membership, etc %26amp; recieve a certain number of pts for each thing %26amp; ultimately get a free hour massage or facial

- last but not least we have above average customer appreciation and service. we always put our clients first (which is the most important in my oppinion)

....but somehow we're still not reaching our goals

I'd love some ideas of more specific things; maybe what someone you go to does to make you want to return! Or a spa that did something different %26amp; suprising in a good way...Advertising/Marketing/Promotio鈥?Ideas for a Day Spa with Massages Facials %26amp; Waxings?
i feel your pain! lol i run my own massage business from a gym and sometimes feel the crunch of a slow day. here are a few things i do to drum up business:

when it's slow, ask the techs (if you force them to do it, they just won't provide a good service) if anyone is interested in giving mini services for free to promote themselves. like nail techs can do hand massages, estheticians can do paraffin dips, massage therapists can do chair massages, stylists can do a blow out. make sure the tech has business cards with their names so they can give it to the client and say, ';if you enjoyed that service, please come back and see me and i'll give you 10% off your first service with me';. you'll be surprised. i do free chair massages once a week for 2 hours and get a lot of new business this way.

another idea is to create a ';last minute appt'; e-mail list. i have people on a list and whenever i have a cancellation or any openings in my day, i send them an e-mail first thing in the morning and let them know that i have the following openings and if they book a slot i'll give them 20% off. that works wonders!

finally, try doing an open house on the spas closed day. invite your regulars and have them bring a friend or 2. offer light ppetizers and refreshments. have the staff perform the mini services and talk to the potential clients. finally raffle off a GC (whatever amount you want), one for existing clients and one for the potential clients.

hope these tips help and good luck!!!Advertising/Marketing/Promotio鈥?Ideas for a Day Spa with Massages Facials %26amp; Waxings?
Promotional advertising campaigns, similar to what Spa Snob mentioned (giving away mini services) works well if you don't want to pay an advertising fee. We have helped many day spas by creating similar campaigns. If you do good work, you'll keep these customers forever! Visit nimarketing.com Report Abuse

It seems that you have been put a lot of effort into this strategy. You might want to bring or consult with a company that can help you take it to the next level.

  • I was hired at a spa to do facials full time?

i took the job and quit another cause this was closer to home( the other was 45 miles one way). After 2 weeks the owners cousin who ran it cut our hours( also our tips were being stolen) and started giving everything to one girl there( I found out this girl who was doing facials, massages, and manicures) was only licensed to do facials. Due to my cut of hours I filed for unemployment and am collecting it. The owner got rid of his cousin and the girl and finally put on 3 staff members to run the spa who he just lost now causehe brought BACK the girl and his cousin.. I forgot to mention this girl also shoved me and called me names in front of a client one day. My question is- is this some sort of labor law suit or do I just wipe my feet and get on with life... (I currently have 2 other jobs lined up.)I was hired at a spa to do facials full time?
You might have a case.If you have a contract.Honestly if it was me I would just report them, and move on.Goodluck!I was hired at a spa to do facials full time?
By shoving you, you can successfully file assault charges against this girl. Any form of unwanted physical contact is assault and can be countered with legal action.

By calling you names in front of a client, that constitutes verbal harassment. That also can be countered with a lawsuit.

Also, by giving this one girl who was only licensed to do facials all the work, that goes against company policies and should be immediately brought to the attention of a corporate office, or the Better Business Bureau.

Remember, when something like this happens, it should always be dealt with. Physical and verbal abuse is grounds for harassment and the business place has a zero tolerance policy, each and every time. What you need to do if you feel like reporting this is find witnesses or proof of the events taking place, and press charges.
If you had a contract and they violated it there might be a case. Or if they let go all the women and hired all men. But it doesn't sound like anything like this happened. You were treated badly, but it's not illegal, just rude. For the most part people are allowed to hire and fire who they want.

    Facials at a Spa?

I am going to buy my Mom a facial for Xmas at a spa. Can anyone tell me which one to buy or does anyone have any insight? THANKSFacials at a Spa?
She will enjoy any facial at a spa.

I would just get her a gift certificate for the amount of a deep cleansing facial. She can use it to have a different kind if she wants.

What a nice gift. I love going to spas.Facials at a Spa?
If they are all the same price, just get a gift certificate and let her choose. If they are different, get a basic one and if she needs to add on other components she can pay the difference.

Unless you can find out her skin type.
Phone Spa salon and ask if they offer any SPA package, when and what treatments included. Get a gift certificate and book her appointment not on the busiest season to make sure she would get extra time to ask questions at her first visit.
You should just purchase a gift certificate for a specific amount and then let her decide what she would like done. If you buy her a certain type she may not actually need that particular thing done, or may not want to do it. So def. get her an amount only and let her decide!
It really depends on what the spa offers, if I were you I'd ask the spa what they would recommend.. Usually they have a 'house special' type thing, and they can explain what they have to offer in detail.

Do facials((done at a SPA)) help control breakouts?!?!?

It can, but it can also cause a breakout. What facials and steams do is they open your pores and make the dirt ansl oil that causes breakouts to come to the surface so it can be purged from your skin. If it causes a breakout, it's a good thing because you'll have less acne later.Do facials((done at a SPA)) help control breakouts?!?!?
Depends on the type of facial. Most spa's offer specific facials to help control acne and I've also heard microdemabrasion is good for breakouts.Do facials((done at a SPA)) help control breakouts?!?!?

    I'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?

I'm a 22 yr old guy. I'm graduating from college at the end of this week. I had heard about guys going to spas, so i figured what the heck... and I scheduled a manicure, pedicure and facial at a spa. Its scheduled for right after finals, a few days before the graduation ceremony I already asked about this on Yahoo answers before and the general consensus seemed to approve. If you have any thoughts on this let me know. Now my new question is this.... Should I call and add in a massage too? They have 30 min massage for $45 and 60 min massage for $75. I also noticed they do body treatments. Should I do one of these too? The have a choice of Custom Exfoliation Treatment, Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment, and Honey-Carrot-Flax Seed Treatment. Is it a appropriate for a guy to get one of these? Also could i do all of the above, manicure and pedicure and facial and massage and body treatment all in one day? Also what are the processes like? Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

    -MikeI'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
    r u gayI'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
oh ma god, u should totally go with the 30 min massage, i mean who wouldn't.You should do the Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment, duh i heard it's one of the best. You should totally go with the manicure and pedicure it feels soooo great.

Yeaa, im not really into us guys getting pedicures and manicures but if you think it's worth it go ahead.
A man getting a manicure or a pedicure is hard for me to swallow (unless you are gay, then it seems perfectly acceptable). However, body massages are cool. Go for it-- you have worked hard and it will be a nice graduation gift to yourself. Have fun!
I don't know about the different facials, but don't let anyone talk you out of going. It's not gay at all to take pride in how you look.
    man more lik manwhor PEDICURE!!!!!!!
did you tell your boyfriend your going to the spa???
try the massage! they feel soo good! :)
add it all treat yourself youve worked hard in college

i've never had one but it sounds nice haha
    .. lol. i support u! get a massage.
first off i totally applaud you for getting the manicure and pedicure too many boys have gross nails and too long cuticles second get a body treatment i recommend the herbal one and massages are a great way to relive stress get the 30 min one if you have the usual amount of stress but the longer one might be better since its after finals also by doing this your not being gay or inappropriate but if you do feel uncomfortable going ask one of your female friends to go with you then you can play it off as her wanting you to go and if you do get all this may i suggest a haircut too just to complate the whole transformation
there is nothing wrong with a guy goin to a spa. what just cuz ur a guy u cant relax? i actually work at a spa. im new but ive been told guys come in often. get a massage. u will love it. i am a massage therapist. it is def worth the money. if u can afford it go with an hour. a half is never enough time. lol have fun

Day Spa customers or have had a facial?

is going to a day spa really worth it? I'm going this Friday to get ';skin Brightening'; the cost is $155

do facials really make a difference in one day, I have a party to go on Sat? thanksDay Spa customers or have had a facial?
geez. mine was $55, and was great. they need to do a lot of stuff to you for $155! that's a crazy price, unless they do a lot.Day Spa customers or have had a facial?
I would not spend that much, and have them convince you its worth it. What is the difference of buying Oilya products and doing it yourself. If you have good answers for me Well you may convince me. IF your questioning price. Well your doing something above your means.

Get some tea , buy a product , invite your best friend over, and use the products on yourselves. Have a good time.
I love the expierence of the spa but the actual facial I got once at the spa gave me pimples. I guess it was removing the toxins but I didn't enjoy the pimples.

Can I still get facials at Spas if I am taking antibiotics and prescription creams from my dermatologist?

i just want to get a basic facial. is that ok?Can I still get facials at Spas if I am taking antibiotics and prescription creams from my dermatologist?
antibiotics will not affected your skin during a facial. Hoever if you are taking retin a, tretinion, or differen, you might want to reconsider the facial or not use those creams a few days before your facial. Can I still get facials at Spas if I am taking antibiotics and prescription creams from my dermatologist?
I would ask my doctor first.
you should give your dermatologist a call first and ask, if they say its fine, go ahead and do it

  • Spa Treatment=Removal Of Scars, Which Is Dead Skin, and Facials?

Do Spa Treatments that remove dead skin help remove scars? Because, scars are just basically dead skin right? A lady at the spa told me this and I wanted to try this before the Summer, so that I can show my legs with confidence. Also, do what spa treatments help with cellulite?

Last, facials do make your skin tone pop out and they make your skin glow, as i've heard, right?

Please, give me your input and answers.

ThanksSpa Treatment=Removal Of Scars, Which Is Dead Skin, and Facials?
    * aloe vera jelly (externally)

    * aloe vera juice (internally)

    * shea butter

    * silicia gel

    * vitamin E oil (internally and externally, respective of its purpose)

    * hydrogen peroxide

    * eat veggies raw, when possibleSpa Treatment=Removal Of Scars, Which Is Dead Skin, and Facials?
It depends on the scar. If it's small a treatment might lessen it but no scars are not dead skin. Scars are damaged skin and with very serious scars there isn't much to do about them but that's mainly serious burn scars and things like that. No treatments help with cellulite. Some help briefly to make it appear a bit better but nothing gets rid of cellulite. Facials can be very, very successfully done at home without the cost of a spa. They make your skin glow when they remove the top surface of dead skin and allow the newer and healthier skin underneath to show. You can do that fine with a good quality scrub product. I was a skin care consultant for 10 years so I know from experience. Strangers used to stop me on the street to ask about my skin and I used all products you can use at home.

Best spa in NYC for facials?

I want to bring a friend of my to a spa for a facial for her 21st birthday, where should i bring her? I hear bliss at soho is ok, but the facial people are really hard at telling you to add extra stuff.

I would say that the Exhale spas are pretty much the best in the city, but their prices probably reflect that.

I work at a spa, so luckily get from 15% to 50% off on facials depending on the time of year and DEFINITELY take advantage of it!

Typically I try to get one a month, but that's not always possible, so at the very least, once every three months, or if I'm going on a trip or vacation, the week before that. even with people like normal skin like me, it makes a HUGE difference in your skin texture and your confidence. It's

Spa's and facials. Does anyone know a good spa in Las Vegas?

Trying to find a spa that does really good facials.Spa's and facials. Does anyone know a good spa in Las Vegas?
Canyon Ranch at the Venetian/Palazzo is also my favorite.

But I would have another massage, wrap, etc. instead.

A facial is a facial no matter where it is done - clean/moisturize, pop your pimples, etc.

Not very relaxing or luxurious.Spa's and facials. Does anyone know a good spa in Las Vegas?
No questions it has to be the Canyon Ranch Spa inside the Venetian Hotel.. I would say the Bellagio Spa comes in a close second.
well the choice for me seems to be Canyon Ranch Spa %26amp; treasure island.

while canyon ranch has some of the most exotic oils for massages and facials, nothing beats treasure island in quality of massagers, ( and hot too)

although i would like to first browse a lot before deciding where to go, usually there is a spa in the hotels i stay in.
Back in December, I stayed at Treasure Island and went to the spa two different days. The spa has a blue theme and it is a really cool vibe. After I showered and got into my comfy robe and slippers, they had complimentary fruit, muffins, coffee, water, and juice. I had a hot stone massage combined with a scalp massage which was wonderful. Then next day I came back for a spa pedicure combined with a callous treatment and again it was wonderful. I felt pampered and taken care of the entire time!
There are no bad spas in any Las Vegas hotel. I doubt anyone has been to every single one of them to compare them. But whichever is the most convenient will serve you well. I provided a link, pick one!

How often can i go to the spa to get facials? would going twice a week be bad for my skin??

Facials should bedone once a month. Although a dgood face pack once a week ... is a great idea!!!How often can i go to the spa to get facials? would going twice a week be bad for my skin??
Yes, that would be too often. It should be done 1-2 times a months, or as a course for 7-15 days in a row and then again in 6 months.

Masks are intended to clarify your skin or moisturize, or rejuvenate. And doing the same process too often will be bad for your skin as it will over exfoliate your facial skin or give too much moisture and your skin in first case will look too dull and in the second too saggy.

So, not often will do the trick. And same goes for facials treatment - a little goes a long way. Apply sparingly, paying special attention to the areas of concern. How often can i go to the spa to get facials? would going twice a week be bad for my skin??

I'm looking to book a spa package for two (massages, facials, hot tub, a combination of these) in Toronto.

Its for my boyfriend and I. Our price range is flexible, we are both working professionals. I'm not looking for people to just google this and give me a list - I'm looking for answers from people that have tried spas in the Toronto area - and even done some of the couples packages!

Look forward to hearing the answers!!!!!I'm looking to book a spa package for two (massages, facials, hot tub, a combination of these) in Toronto.
It's outside of Toronto but I was really impressed by Ste. Anne鈥檚 Spa just north of Coburg. They have a ';Stress Express'; train/limo service from Union Station downtown. (Train to Coburg, limo to the spa). My wife and I went there and it was pretty awesome. I don't have a bunch of experience with Spa's so I may not be the best to judge but it was really impressive and a great way to pamper yourself/significant other.

Their website is below, hope that helps.I'm looking to book a spa package for two (massages, facials, hot tub, a combination of these) in Toronto.
The best spa i've been to in the city is Stillwater. However, it was also the most expensive.

Nouvelle Maria Spa ( I think that's the name, haven't been in a while) is a good option if Stillwater is out of your price range. It's located in the King Edward Hotel, on King street east of Yonge.

Those are the only 2 spa's I've been to in the downtown core. I believe they both have websites if you want to check out pricing. Another place that's been reccommended to me, is the spa at The Windsor Arms Hotel, but I haven't been there.

  • Facials & Spa?

Having a facial done for the first time. Do you give a tip afterwards? If so, how much?Facials %26amp; Spa?
Generally a tip is given. I usually give about 15-20% depending on the service. Hope you enjoy it!Facials %26amp; Spa?
you can use egg yoke on your face for 20 minutes until dry then rinse off and wash. dry with warm or damp towel. it smoothens the face and opens up pores. just be sure to wash your face and scrub on the black heads if any. oh wash your face in the mornings and at night before bed. take off any makeup before washing face. good luck..
fifteen percent should be your benchmark-if you're not impressed i'd tip ten-if your person was really rude and awful to you don't tip at all-if you're really pleased with the service tip twenty-and keep in mind that if you're having extractions done it's going to hurt and that's just part of the facial-two days later you'll be awfully glad you sat through it (it's when they push the grime up out of your pores-it sucks but you look like a new person)
DO wash your face twice everyday to avoid breakouts and zits. If your face is extra oily, wash your face three times a day

DO NOT touch your face too much because you will make your pores dirty which will cause zits to appear

DO take a shower at least every day(every other day is alright too)

if you have dry skin, DO use moisturizing lotion

DO NOT eat too many greasy foods

DO use products like Neutrogena Pore Clarifying Treatment

    DO use masks

DO use zit creams like Clearasel, Oxy(or you can get a prescription medicine like benzoyl peroxide)

DO use water based foundation as opposed to oil-based

if you are having a major breakout, DO NOT put any makeup on your face to cover it up because that will just make your zits stay longer and you will get more

I would go to TheGlen Ivy Spa in Brea Mall or Burke Williams at The Block in Orange. I like Burke Williams better for the overall ';experience';, but it is a little bit farther from Downey. But I would say both are equal as far as quality of the actual service goes. Have fun!Ilive in Downey, Ca. and i need to find a spa where they give the greatest massages and facials...i wanted to?

Do you tip the people that give you a massage or facial at the spas?

If so around how much???Do you tip the people that give you a massage or facial at the spas?
Of course I do... depending on what I got

and how good of a job they did .

full body massages are alot of work.....

15 to 20 dollars... I am a good tipper!!!Do you tip the people that give you a massage or facial at the spas?
    In a word ... Yes.

T.I.P. means ';To Insure Promptness';. It applies to anyone providing a service. IMHO you should tip your masseuse.

It's not always easy to determine when to tip and when not to tip. I try to put my self in the other person's shoes and ask myself, ';if I would need a tip as a supplemental part of my income';. If the answer is yes. I pay a tip. Else I don't pay a tip.

E.g. I don't tip the air conditioner guy (he's getting paid a salary already) but the wiatress, masseuse, hair dresser usually receive a miniumum wage and have to supplement their income with tips. Yeah, it's a fine line so use your best judgement.

PS ... depends on the price of the over all service generally between 10% and 20% of the price. However, if you a regular and you want to insure good service, tipping well gets around the office and people will fall over themselves to get your service. However, to get great treatment, you need to consistently tip well else it won't happen.
    i'd聽say yeah!

they are working hard- so wouldnt you want one?!

i'd say tip around what you think he/she deserves- but not below $5.
you should. depending on how much time they spend on you. if it's 5 minutes 2 or 3 dollars. 10 , 4 or 5 dollars. 15 minutes 7 dollars etc.
you should. my mom is a massage therapist and it makes her day to get a few god tips... maybe $20
yes! there are some websites with the etiquitte to it just google it :)

  • Will getting regular facials at the spa help my skin?

I'm wondering if they would actually help with getting rid of uneven spots or scars from pimplesWill getting regular facials at the spa help my skin?
No more than having a daily routine of washing with a mild soap, followed by a toner, and a moisterizer with SPF in it., However, deep pore cleansing facials can be beneficial, and also glycolic acid peels. ( they usually come in six treatments you do to achieve maximum results) Be weary of microdermabrasion because the wand they use on your face has crystals in it that can become imbedded in your skin resulting in a trip to the dermatologist, plus additional scarring. Going for a facial once a month is what I would recommend. Will getting regular facials at the spa help my skin?
    microdermabrasion.
It will help, but it's expensive. The at home kits like Olay work really well so I'd advise you to try that first before you spend all your money.
They help. I would not go on a monthly basis, I would just keep my skin clean, do home facials but do go for facials when the seasons change. If we all go as often as the facialist recommends we would go broke.

    Spa Facials?

I am going to a spa in August. I don't have really bad Acne and I go to the dermatoligist and I have topical prescription medicine, but I do have slightly sensitive skin. On my cheeks I have what looks like Acne, but you cannot feel it, it is under my skin. There are also a few marks almost liek pox mrks that have only appeared in the past year or 2. Do you think a facial would help at all? If not what might be wrong with my skin and what are these marks or scars and how can I make them go away? (I am 23 years old) here are the list of facials that I like

    *Refresher Face Treatment

This face treatment cleanses to refine dull skin. Hydrating and

detoxifying to the surface skin. Steam is included.

    *Teen Mini Face Treatment

A gentle cleansing to remove dull skin, impurities from under the

skin and stimulate new skin cells. Great for younger skin.

if you already see a dermatologist ask their opinion they would know more than I ever willSpa Facials?
spa facials are not actual skin treatments...you must talk to your dermatologist and find out how these came from

Its really hard to know exactly what you have do you have a pic of you? you can send it to beauticontrol06@yahoo.com

For the scares you can use microderm facial abrasian...check it out at my website
I think i have the same thing! I went to a dermatologist and they gave me this stuff that dryed my face out and told me to use it for 2 yrs!! I stopped using it after a month, My cheeks became very sensitive to the sun too!( I happen to love sun) ..lol If you find out a better prescription please let me know! Angllavina@ yahoo Thanks and good luck!
I don't think a spa would help your face at all...jut keep going to your dermatologist. good luck!

You know you're just asking for it with this one, haha.Which one of these facials should i get at the spa to get rid of blackheads?
I think you should ask the aesthetician at the salon where you're having the facial. After looking at your skin they'll be able to suggest the right facial for you.
the purifying facial will help get rid of blackheads. the extractions, which are both included in the purifying and signature facial, are also benefical in treating acne.

How do I tell my best friend she has bad facial hair, when I know she won't do the day spa thing?

I went up to a lass with a hairy top lip and just said ';Nice 'tash';.

She was thrilled. How do I tell my best friend she has bad facial hair, when I know she won't do the day spa thing?
tell her to shave that ****How do I tell my best friend she has bad facial hair, when I know she won't do the day spa thing?
there's no easy way to do it i dont think. if you booked her into a salon for a treatment on it (and maybe a facial or something else too?!) would she go to that??

other than that, be honest, or is anyone else able to tell her without offending her?

just remember, she might appreciate it in the end.
Easy. Make sure you are cleanly waxed and say, '; I just had %26lt;bla bla%26gt; done. Is it red still';? You should get it done too...I went to the bla bla bla... Im in the highest sales position there is. Sometimes you have to just say it, but don't laugh or twitch. You are selling the spa or the process, not the fact that she needs it. You will make the sale -so to speak.
Just tell her, I mean if you are best friends then you can certainly tell her. Imean you are helping her out, not making fun of her.
    Buy her a face brush
The best thing to do is TELL HER. I know it's hard, trust me...But like joke to her about it and tell her to wax it. You're her friend, you need to tell her the truth!

    Good luck!
tell her nicely and request a place or person to do it at, she will probebly appreciate the honest
tell him (';her';) that he (';she';) should not have had that sex change.
write it in a note say that you sometimes get it done and that she could come with you.

How often should u get facials done at a spa to keep ur skin CLEAR and healthy?

Too many can be bad for your skin, and can cause you to break out. So I'd say about once a month to once every two months, for good skin. I have one just every now and again coz I have sensitive skin. How often should u get facials done at a spa to keep ur skin CLEAR and healthy?
Honestly, I never get facials but I have really clear skin.

I used to have acne but I've been prescribed to antibiotics.

I just wash my face with cold water and cetaphil cleanser then I apply Differin and Cetaphil Cream.

But I do my extractions myself on my nose to clear black heads.

    :/

So I guess it depends on your skin. How often should u get facials done at a spa to keep ur skin CLEAR and healthy?
    Pssssh. Don't even bother!

You can do the exact thing at home, and it'll save you the $100 to spend on something worthwhile.

Buy exfoliating gloves. Theyre like $2 and you can get them from $2 shops or safeway... even target.

They look like bloves, but are rough, and you use them with facewash to clean your face, and bodywash for your body. I LOVE them, and they work fine. They help get rid of pimles, cause it gets rid of all the dirt, dead skin cells and other yucky stuff that clog your pores.

I promise you'll notice a difference in your skin after a week!

Dont bother getting those ones from chemists that are like $60, unless you have the money! To me, they seem like a complete waste of money.

USe the exfoliating gloes on your legs, then shave. You'll have the smoothest legs, and those scales will be practically all gone!

    Good luck!

    Xx
If you have problem skin once a month is good. If you have normal skin once every 2 to 3 months is good. You wouldn't want to irritate your skin with too many treatments. They also sell at home facials that you could use in between visits that are made to use more often at drugstores.
once a month but if your skin is bad, u need to do it 3 weeks once.. quite expensive but your skin will really improve..

i don't do facials previously and thought that besides the pimples outbreak, my skin is generally fine. but after doing facials for some time, i realise my skin can be better. now my pores are smaller and skin smoother i.e. cleaner despite having to put on make-up every day.
I do it at home and my skin looks nice and healthy. SPF is key to long term good looking skin.

what all do they do for ur skin?Facials at a spa! how aften should i get one done to keep my skin clear and stuff? and what all do they do....?
Depends on what kind you get - a microdermabrasion will be good for at least 3-6 months.

They feel WONDERFUL. So smooth and your skin will glow!

Facials at a spa! how aften should i get one done to keep my skin clear and stuff? and what all do they do....?
I am fifty years old and started getting a facial every 5-6 weeks about a year ago. I wish I had started many years ago, because I can't believe how much better my skin is. I have had trouble with blemishes all my adult life, and finally my skin looks very good.

My facials are mainly gentle but deep cleaning, to open up and unclog my pores. It took two or three before I noticed much of an improvement, but now I save up my money so I can keep going, because it has worked so well for me.
the recommend amount of time between facials is 4 weeks. so i would recommend every 4 weeks. The purpose of a facial is to do a deep cleaning of the skin. It helps your skin by getting it exfoliated and moisturized and cleansed and massaged. plus they are super relaxing! i would recommend one by dermalogica u can find a salon near you by going to www.dermalogica.com

This is my latest endeavor. In a world that is controlled by ';booty';, it has become almost natural to want to get your booty beautified! It is a great process that works on your butt, and upper legs. It really makes a great difference in the way your bottom feels, and looks! The same as for your face, but down there!

Mask 1. Mix 2 tablespoons honey with 2 teaspoons milk. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

    Mask 2. You will need:

    2 oz/60g ripe avocado flesh

    1 oz/25g orange juice

    1 tsp/5g pure acacia honey

    1 tsp/5g molasses

    5 drops chamomile essential oil

Put all the ingredients in a blender, or mash by hand in a bowl. Add extra orange juice if the mixture is too thick. Use your fingers to spread the mask over your face and neck and leave it on for at least 30 minutes, preferably longer, before removing. Use a warm flannel to rinse off the mask - this will help gently exfoliate skin as well as clean your face. This mask will keep for a day or two in the fridge if you don't use it all.

Homemade Facial Masks for normal skin

Mask 1. Lettuce leaves are best home remedies for normal skin. Dip two large lettuce leaves in olive oil and sprinkle on them a few drops of lemon juice. Place them on both sides of your face, and then cover them with a paper towel dipped in mineral water. Wipe your face with a cotton ball soaked in warm milk, then rinse with boiled warm water.

Spa facials get rid of acne?

i know not just one facial at a spa will but i am willing to go consitantly. do you think going every couple weeks will get my skin clear and keep it that way??Spa facials get rid of acne?
It certainly helps. And the esthetician giving you the facial can also give you advice about how to care for your skin in between facials. They go to school to learn about skin type analysis and care, and the ones I know are very knowledgeable and very good at giving advice on your personal skin type needs.Spa facials get rid of acne?
depending on how bad acne is, you could go once a month, and do home maintenance. acne facials are no joke!they are VERY intense and possibly invasive. be prepared for mild discomfort, swelling, tenderness ,and red blotches.these will fade .only licensed pros should attempt these facials.be sure gloves are worn by facialist, and instruments,if used...are sterilized.remember:acne waste is a BIOHAZZARD, and should be treated as med.waste.as for home maintenance, twice a week exfoliate, daily salicylic acid,or glycolic acid lotion, and a good soothing oat meal mask to sooth skin.with all the acids, you need to sooth. good luck!

Um I am using this Planet Spa stuff from Avon and I think it is breaking me out. Help! It is facial cleanser?

my skin is peeling not bad but like on my nose and the other places where i put the stuff. does that mean it iis working??

Or should I stop using it?

IM SO CONFUSED!!!Um I am using this Planet Spa stuff from Avon and I think it is breaking me out. Help! It is facial cleanser?
STOP USING IT! Use vasilen over night and it should help. Continue using vasilen overnight till it's gone. Which should only take a night or two and maybe three. The cleanser is too powerful and drying up your skin which could damage it. So use the vasilen. Put a pretty good amount on it. You should see an improvement over night! The best part is that vasilen won't clog up your poors!

Does anyone girls like to go to spas and do facials mask?

I love to! I do them at least once a week. They really give your skin a great glow and make you feel great. The DIY recipes are my favorite. Like honey on your face, or a sugar and olive oil body scrub.Does anyone girls like to go to spas and do facials mask?
    I love to do that

unfortunetly i only get ot do it once a year cause i cant afford it (sigh) but i love to do it, it makes you feal so beautifulDoes anyone girls like to go to spas and do facials mask?
I love spas and usually try to get a full body massage once a month along with a pedicure.
I love them! I go once a week and get a FEE, which is a light chemical peel. It can become very addictive. It seems like once you start, you become spoiled to having nice soft skin!!!
Yes even guys like me like to go/ Are you looking for an companion? Let me know.
    I do!!!
its nice..but some facial masks are not good for your face!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Don't get me started on the full body massages and hot rocks!
I'd love to every week, but since I'm on a budget I do it at home every week. Beating up egg white until they're stiff and then folding in honey and applying the mixture to your face for at least 20 minutes. The effects are amazing and the softness. I also alternate with a dermabrasion fine scrub to exfoliate.

The best exfoliation I received was at a spa where a girl applied a scrub all over the entire body, and you're lying on a spa table in a room where the floor is all tile and there's a large drain in the center. Over the table is an arm with 5 shower heads lined up and after the scrub, she opens it up and pushes it slowly back and forth all over your body. Then on the other side.

It alone was one of the relaxing experience I've had, then came the facial.
well i dont really get 2 go to spas ($$) but i do luv 2 use the Proactive Refining mask. usually like after a long day when i come out of the shower, your pores r ttl open so thats really the best time, i put some on, leave it on 4 10 mins. then rinse in warm water. your skin feels sooo good and lk if you have any zits, they'll b almost gone and so will any ';forming zits.'; pampering yourself is soo fun, wat can i say im as girly as they come!

  • Where are some good day spas that offer facials?

    ThanksI'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
You may as well get a massage while you are there! You won't be sorry! You could skip the body treatment if you want or go ahead and try one, it doesn't really matter, but I wouldn't miss the massage for anything! Yes you can have it all done in a day and you will be so relaxed and feel so wonderful when you leave you won't believe it! They will clean and treat your skin and massage your face and neck. They will soak your feet and hands and do the nails and callouses on your feet and give you a nice foot and leg massage and hand massage. Then for the finale you get the full body massage while listening to soft music and some use aroma therapy! You'll feel like butter when you leave! Enjoy!!I'm a guy n I'm going to the spa for a manicure+pedicure+facial. Should I add in a body treatment n massage?
I would defenetly opt for the massage also. You might not like the body treatment so much tough. I know tons of models that get treatments, so yes its appropriate. Yes, most people also do all of that in one day also. It makes for a busy day, but in the end its worth it.
If you can afford it, go for it. It'll be relaxing after finals. Massages are amazing...you can do as many spa treatments as you want...it's just money in their pocket...they don't mind.
Maybe after you can stop at Forever 21 and get a new outfit and shoes with a matching purse.
Sure, i love going to the spa
    dont get it done
im sry dude but manicures pedicures dont u thik that a bit ... gay
I used to work at a spa and we had a lot of guys come in for all of those things, so do not be embarassed!

Manicure will probably take about 30 mins. Pedicure: an hour. Facial: an hour. We didn't have the body treatments at our spa so I can't really tell you how long those take. But, I'm sure you could get all of those treatments in the same day, if you book well in advance.

Go for it! You deserve it! Its your graduation! You'll be more relaxed and better looking for when your family comes to see you graduate.

Hey if they use a face mask they only bring out spots because they open pores so you'd probably get more spots. you need to find a face scrub =) should work better =)

I would definitely get a facial but not as often as you said!
no, not really, they won't open pours, trust me i've tried it just makes ur skin kinda soft but u still will have the acne, i would say go out to a cvs or rite ade, or just a super market and get Clearasil ultra or st.johns Apricot scrub, trust me,because i've had acne problems for years!

  • Facials at a Spa?

Spa Treatment=Removal Of Scars, Which Is Dead Skin, and Facials?

Do Spa Treatments that remove dead skin help remove scars? Because, scars are just basically dead skin right? A lady at the spa told me this and I wanted to try this before the Summer, so that I can show my legs with confidence. Also, do what spa treatments help with cellulite?

Last, facials do make your skin tone pop out and they make your skin glow, as i've heard, right?

Please, give me your input and answers.

ThanksSpa Treatment=Removal Of Scars, Which Is Dead Skin, and Facials?
    * aloe vera jelly (externally)

    * aloe vera juice (internally)

    * shea butter

    * silicia gel

    * vitamin E oil (internally and externally, respective of its purpose)

    * hydrogen peroxide

YOU CAN DEFINATELY DO A: MANI-PEDI%26amp;FACIAL WITHIN 1-3 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE SPA (QUALITY TAKES TIME). I WOULD DEFINATELY GO FOR THE MASSAGE! BELIEVE ME IF YOU HAVE STRESS, YOU WILL WALK OUT FLOATING! IF YOU GO FOR A MORE INTENSE MASSAGE 30 MIN'S IS PLENTY FOR YOUR FIRST TIME.
Massages feel good, but they aren't really worth it :/ I would say, unless you have a lot of money to blow, skip it.

If you are considering getting that many services done on the same day you may want to see if they offer packages that include several treatments. This may save you money. As far as dressing for the spa you can wear whatever you want because as soon as you get there you will change into a robe and sandals that they will provide.
THat's a LOT to have done in one day, makes for a very long day. I've never scheduled so many things at once. Usually, they can't fit you in for all of that in one day.

If you are having all this in one day, have the mud treatment first and mani/pedi last. You don't want to mess up a nice mani-pedi. Just a thought...
lol haha ur kidding right? *shakes head and chuckles* nail polish on a guy.................. i %26lt;3 the masages on the feet but since ur a guy it's really wierd. there's never been a guy except 4 a masage there
Go and get the lot done,it would feel fantastic, just don't get coloured nails, clear would be fine.
Real men don't go to spas!

Do you have any experience with ';Spa - Lavish Your Pet - Fresh Facial Scrub';?

This product is touted as great at removing facial staining in dogs, particulary around the eyes. I'm hoping to hear some reviews of this product and whether or not it works for tear stains.

Also, do you use it on the whole body or do you use a different shampoo to wash the dog's body.

My dog has bulgey eyes that run constantly. I'm looking for a product that will clean the rusty color off of his face, remove the musty odor and help relieve his itchiness in that area.Do you have any experience with ';Spa - Lavish Your Pet - Fresh Facial Scrub';?
ya. i dont use it but my friend does. she has a shihtzue who always has running eyes so he has red stains on his white fur. she started using this stuff like a year ago and you can see the difference in his coat! he is so shinny and vibrant! its amazing! i hope you use it to and when i get my chihuahua i will defanatly use that!

I work at a spa where they reuse the facial sponges by washing them in the washing machine.?

Don't they hold bacteria because they are porous and are difficult to be cleaned and sanitized? We were taught in school and for the state board to toss 'em!I work at a spa where they reuse the facial sponges by washing them in the washing machine.?
YES your supposed to throw them away. This is why I take my own stuff or watch them open the package before anyone touches my feet or face.I work at a spa where they reuse the facial sponges by washing them in the washing machine.?
OMG, where is this place so I know never to go there. They know they should not be doing this. If you want to report them, call the health department and ask them about it. Tell them your a customer and you heard they were doing this, just to be on the safe side.
    Yuck, throw them away!!!!!

    That's sick!!!
They should be tossed. Even washing them with bleach and hot water does not kill all bacteria. They could be spreading disease. If one of those sponges is used on someone with aids and blood gets on it, that virus will stay and be spread. Those things are made to be one person use. Disgusting.
I think you should throw them away because you go to school for a reason!!! if that's what you learned, then throw them away.
What kind of soap do they use?
    Terrible!

I must tell my friends ,they ofen go to massage

they also like to talk about massage in a website called Pubspa.com

Should i seek a dermatologists help or just a facial cleansing at a spa?

my skin was just starting to get clear when all of a sudden (same skin regimen) all hell broke loose. my cheeks began itching and slowly turned red. now, i have about 6 soon to be pimples on my right cheek, about 3 tiny tiny ones on my left check, three near my side burn and two on my chin (not to mention the gang of bumps on my forehead), what's going on? now, i don't know if i should got to a dermatologist (who might possibly prescribe something i have yet to NOT try) or maybe try getting it taken care of at a spa (glycolic peel?)

water? check. vitamins? check. herbal supplements? check. bp? check. salicylic acid, differin, clean n clear, retin-a micro, alpha hydroxy, nature's cure, NOTHING, the list goes on and on...Should i seek a dermatologists help or just a facial cleansing at a spa?
Something is obviously irritating your skin. Did you change your laundry detergent, soap, body wash, shampoo? Should i seek a dermatologists help or just a facial cleansing at a spa?
go to a spa for a facial first. if it absolutely doesnt clear within 3 times you go there, then go to a dermatoligist
Getting facials at a spa is pretty much a service for ';making good skin better';. Spas and facial peels do not do much to ';make bad skin good';. It takes a very deep glycolic or TCA peel (which can take two to three weeks to recover from completely) to have a large effect on skin, and those are primarily done to treat acne scarring, wrinkles, enlarged pores, and pigmentation issues. Most facial peels are only superficial, in order to minimize down-time -- and are an expensive option that doesn't provide long-term results. There are many options you haven't yet tried.

It does sound like you're over-irritating your skin with too many treatments. (I'm sure you're not currently on everything you've listed above, though.) Or, you might be developing rosacea. You might want to consider Clinac-BPO for your acne (only if your skin is extremely oily). It's a special formulation of benzoyl peroxide with an extra ingredient called Acrysorb to help absorb excess oil. There's also a facial wash called Plexion (prescription) which is helpful for acne. There's also a new laser/light treatment called Isolaz. You can go to www.isolaz.com to see if there is a provider in your area.

You didn't mention your age, so your acne just be worsening -- some people have flares at different stages. If you have insurance, utilize it instead of spending out-of-pocket money on superficial chemical peels or spa treatments that have to be repeated constantly.
