Do you tip the owner of the spa who has given you the facial? him and his wife are the only employee's other

than the receptionist, at his small ,but quaint place. if so, how much?Do you tip the owner of the spa who has given you the facial? him and his wife are the only employee's other
One does not tip an owner who provides service.

It would be perfectly acceptable to bring a thoughtful gift to your appointment. [ in this case, something that could be shared with the wife %26amp; receptionist would be best--flowers, cookies, something along those lines].

The reason one tips staff and not owners is that the staff in a service industry (waitstaff, stylists, etc) is that they rely on their tips as income. The owner's ';tip'; is your continued patronage of the establishment and your wholehearted referral of the business to friends.

As a small business service provider, I occasionally have a client tip me. I always graciously accept and say, ';Thank you. I'll see that the staff receives this along with your compliments';.

Hope this helps!

You only tip the person who performed the service. Usually 10% - 20% of the total bill.
give 10% tip to the person who gave u facial thats all don't try to figure out who are owner receptionist and related to each other etc
You tip whoever performed the service, regardless of what other roles they may fill. 15% is standard for most services.
The way I was taught is that if you visit a busy salon and the owner does your hair, you do not tip the owner.

I would think that the same rule applies at a spa. The owner collects the entire amount that you spend, whereas an employee who is providing services does not.
Your only obiligation is to tip the person that is performing a service on you. Everyone else gets a thank you and an ';I'll see you again soon';.
