Question about a spa facial?

I'm getting my first ';classic eurpoean facial'; on Sunday morning... I heard you break out afterwards... Is that true? I'm going on a trip the following Thursday so I don't want to break out!!Question about a spa facial?
I have to say it entirely depends on your skin type... a lot of people have slight irritation when toxins escape through the skin's surface, but it really depends.





I don't know what brand your spa specializes in (the spa I work at uses Yon Ka), but typically, a European facial can be irritating to the skin depending on the ingrediants used (some use seaweed, for example, which is too detoxifying for some skin types). If you're having extractions done, that will give you some redness... but your skin will feel entirely new afterwards.





It's up to chance, but I have sensitive skin that's prone to breaking out, and I've never had a breakout after a facial... in fact, I always go have one WHEN I have a breakout, and my skin is beautiful the next day.





Just remember to drink LOADS of water after, and don't wear makeup until the following day (this part is the hardest, sometimes I can't resist when I go for a facial, but its really in your best interest).





Either way, your therapist will answer any questions you have in detail though, and on your first visit to a spa, they should give you a questionerre to fill out (i.e, about your diet, skin type), be as detailed as you can so they can suit the facial better to you. The good news is, unless you have an allergic reaction, the facial will have worked its magic and any irritations you may or may not have will be calmed by Thursday, so even if you do have some reaction, wait it out.Question about a spa facial?
i broke out 2 days later...red spots
I broke out like 4 hrs later!! i got like 2 big zits..... i heard its because you have someone else's body oils (from their hands/fingertips) touching you from a long period of time!! your body tries to get rid of these unknown oils and thats where your face begins to break out......i'd let them be!!! like they told you already, they'll be gone before your trip, or at least subtly if not minorly noticeable. if you mess with them, you'll have temporary scars that could last around 4-5 months!! I have had a facial before and did get a few blemishes but that is the idea... to clear the skin - you should be fine as long as you let the blemishes do the work and you don't mess with them and your face should be clear and radiant by the time you go on your trip! Usually the recovery time from a facial is about 5 days.
No, I'm always a little red afterwards but it fades after a little. If it doesn't, put a cool wet cloth on your face for a little while and relax. It really depends on what kind of facial it is, but just tell them you have sensitive skin, they will be gentle.
